Jerry Wayne Sanders, 69, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his residence.

Jerry was born on April 25, 1954, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Bill and Rosie Ham Sanders. He worked as a mechanic with the Dyer County Highway Department and attended The Church of Jesus Christ. Jerry loved spending time with his family and at his job. In his spare time Jerry enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, traveling and working in his garden. Jerry proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Hunt and Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his three daughters, Brenda Carroll (Tim), Jennifer LaRose and Misty Danos; a sister, Susie Wilson (Tommy); eight grandchildren, Brandi Carroll, Ashley Anderson, Timothy Wayne Carroll II, Cammy Farris, Daniel Hunt, Austin LaRose, Alex Danos and Elijah Danos; four great-grandchildren; and a niece he raised, Hannah Hardin.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Sanders; a brother, Billy Sanders; two sisters, Judith Galloway and Betsy Hardin; a son-in-law, Jeff LaRose; and a great-grandson, Jaxon Ferris.

Pallbearers will be James Irby, Pete Welch, Jack Boone, Tim Bivens, Jeff Jones and Gerald Canada.
