Jerry Allen Hays, 68, of Lenox, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
He was a retired machine operator for Caterpillar, attended Lenox Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudy Ring officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 12 noon - 3 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Hays of Lenox, a daughter, Angie Cole and husband, Mike, of Lenox; a son, Keith Hays and wife, Dawn, of Lenox; a sister, Sonda Bishop of Dyersburg; five brothers, Steve Marvin Hays of Colorado Springs, CO., Gene Clark of Tigrett, Dan Hays of Dyersburg and Did Hays and James Sykes, both of Lenox; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Virginia Sykes; and two brothers, David Sykes and Gary Sykes.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Key, Joshua Key, Cody Williams, Joy Hubble, Danny James and Zac Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Fortner, Joe Smith, Dustin Fortner, Taylor Cole and Wade Cole.
