Jerry D. Harris, 79, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

Mr. Harris retired after 25 years from the Firestone Tire Co. in Memphis. After retirement, he spent much of his time gardening, tending his cattle and enjoyed fellowship and storytelling. He was an active vendor at the Dyersburg Farmers' Market. He attended the Bogota Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Short Harris, of Dyersburg; a son, Jerry Harris, Jr. of Dyersburg, two daughters, Anita Harris Riffle of Palestine, AR and Sherry Harris Wilson of Dyersburg; one sister, Daisy Dimple Brewer, of Drummonds, TN; five grandchildren; Amanda Riffle, Ryan Riffle, April O'Bannon, Austin Riffle and Steven Wilson, Jr; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Iola Long Harris.

Visitation for Mr. Jerry Harris will be from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 17th at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Wally Childress, Tony Childress, Todd Hampton, Frankie Harris, Nathan Harris and Stacy Pruitt.
