Obituary

Jerry Ann Carson born November 10, 1944 in St Louis Mo. She was the daughter of James Ed Ellis and Myla Ellis of Finley TN. Jerry Ann attended Finley Elementary, Dyersburg High School and UT Martin. Jerry Ann left UT Martin to come home and marry Charles Anthony "Tony" Carson.

Jerry Ann and Tony were married 57 years when Tony passed in 2020. They have 4 children Anthony "Tony" Joel Carson (Tammy Jones-Carson), Stacey Ann Stow (Keith Stow), Kelley Leigh Carson (Nathaniel Hickman) and Ginny Lynn Mallard. Jerry Ann better known as Grammy to her 8 grandsons Zack Carson, Kyle Carson, Cort Stow, Brandon Stow, Dillon Carson (Monica), TJ Carson, Drake Mallard and Carson Mallard and 3 great grandsons Weston Carson, Riley Carson and Maddox Carson.

Jerry Ann worked at First Citizens National Bank and Security Bank earlier in her career. She then started her career in customer service at Colonial Rubber spending the majority of the next 40 years as Customer Service Manager before retiring.

After her retirement, one of her joys was traveling with her best friend and sister Molly Gean.  Jerry Ann and Molly had many adventures including an Alaskan cruise and various trips with their church family. These sisters have an inseparable bond, always there for each other when needed.

Jerry Ann's first love was her love for Jesus. Jerry Ann spent her 81 years worshiping the Lord first at Finley Church of Christ as a child and young lady then over 57 years as a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and most recently West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Jerry Ann loved her church and was a very active member always ready to help anyone that needed her.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Jim Chamblee, Mr. Nathaniel Hickman and Mr. Stephen Sutton officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Ms. Jerry Ann's grandsons.

Jerry Ann was a light that shown bright and a textbook example of a giving heart. You always knew she was there for you (mainly because you heard her before you saw her).

Mom you will be greatly missed by many, the world was a better place with you in it.
