Jerry Wayne Abbott's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Abbott, 65, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at his residence.
He was a retired employee from World Color Press and was a former ag pilot. Mr. Abbott was a member of First Baptist Church, was an avid glass collector, and was a very talented musician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Memorial services for Mr. Abbott will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Abbott of Nashville; his parents, Ben and Imogene Abbott of Ridgely; a brother, Charles Milo Abbott and wife, Kathy, of Dyersburg; and two nieces, Hollie Hudlow and Betsy Hayes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Newbill, Gerald Finley, David Hay, Cody Hay, Kurt Ball, Tom Barnes, Bill Jones and James Turnbo.
In lieu of flowers, the Abbott Family requests that memorials be directed to Dyersburg First Baptist Church Building Fund.
