Janie Ruth White Ferrell, 67, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

She was born on May 8, 1951, in Milan, TN to the late Waldon Clark White and the late LaVerne Arrington White. Janie was an elementary school teacher with the Dyersburg City School System, retiring after 34 years of teaching. She was also a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at West Dyersburg Church of Christ with Bro. Chuck Morris officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the church.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Harry Ferrell of Dyersburg; two daughters, Amy Jerding and husband, Joe, of Dyersburg and Julie Walker and husband, Tom, of Newburgh, IN; a brother, David White and wife, Judy, of Huntingdon; a sister, Carol Anne Forbess and husband, Michael, of Brighton; six grandchildren, Garrett Jerding, Ben Jerding, Raylan Jerding, Will Walker, Janie Walker and Gus Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Austin, Rick Rebstock, Sid Hendren, Tony Dement, Tommy Eison and Dwight Cox.

The family requests that memorials be directed to West Dyersburg Church of Christ Mission and Scholarship Fund.
