Obituary

Janice V. King, 77, of Tiptonville, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her residence.

She was a retired cafeteria manager for Lake County School System, member of Tiptonville First Baptist Church and worked as a Correctional Officer for 17 years at Northwest Correctional Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Steve Carr, Rev. Hollis Boyd and Rev. Jason Allison officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy King of Tiptonville; two daughters, Susan King Chadwick and husband, Tim, of St. Charles, MO. and Joi Lynn King Davis and husband, Jonathan, of Hornbeak; a son, Jerry D. King and wife, Phyllis, of Jackson, MO.; a sister, Quinna Mae Nale of Memphis; six grandchildren, Ryan Chadwick, Aaron King, Jonathan Davis, Nathan Chadwick, Amanda King Barlow and Jordan Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Josh Chadwick, Kaitlyn Chadwick, Emily Chadwick and Bradley Chadwick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Odell Barksdale Boyd; and a brother, Willa Fay Boyd.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Chadwick, Nathan Chadwick, Josh Chadwick, Aaron King, Andrew Barlow and Danny Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Parker, Roland Pope, Mike Fraley and Tommy Norris.
