Janice Mitchell Jones' Obituary
Janice Mitchell Jones, 75, of Meridian, MS., formerly of Tiptonville, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS.
She was a member of First Christian Church. She was a native of Tiptonville, where she graduated from Tiptonville High School and was a graduate of University of Tennessee at Martin.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tiptonville City Cemetery with the Rev. Marita Burkeen officiating.
Visitation will follow immediately after the graveside service at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years and high school sweetheart, Dr. Elbert M. "Sonny" Jones of Meridian, MS; and two daughters, Janet Brown and husband, Paul, of Meridian, MS and Marilyn Jones Davis and husband, Allen, of Little Rock, AR.
She was preceded in death by her father, William "Jack" Mitchell; and her mother, Imogene Mitchell Bedwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Christian Church, 2310 13th Street, Meridian, MS 39301; The Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103; or to the Anderson Cancer Benevolent Fund, 1704 23rd Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301.
