James E. Williamson, 87, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was retired as a mechanic for Newman Jones Ford, a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran and member of the 17th Airborne Division - Glider Infantry in World War II, a former employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing, and an avid fisherman.
Services were Saturday, July 25, at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Carl Mills officiating. Burial was in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Williamson, Larry Williamson and Jerry Williamson, all of Dyersburg; a sister, Mary Strawn of Dyersburg; two brothers, Bobby Williamson and Doug Williamson, both of Dyersburg; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Moore Williamson; his parents, Albert and Cora Williamson; and a sister, JoElla Eudaley.
Pallbearers will be Corey Criswell, Shane Evans, Lynn Williamson, Shannon Williamson, Mark Strawn, Chuck Moore and Cody Garrett.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
