Obituary

James Franklin "Toopee" Butler, 78, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Lenox, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Alvin York Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
He was a retired farmer, a member of Lenox Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include three nephews, Larry Roberts and wife, Linda, of Dyersburg, Ed Blankenship and Steve Blankenship, both of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lula Butler; two sisters, Imogene Roberts and Naverna "Kitty" Blankenship; and a brother, Billy Butler.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hardin, Tim Hardin, Ronnie Stow, Did Hayes, Marty Sykes and Joe Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Hardin and Mark Waller.
