James Cecil Seaton, 81, of Finley, TN, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on March 29, 1941, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late James Edward Seaton and Virginia Polly Anderson Seaton. Cecil was the owner and operator of Seaton Excavating Company and served as a volunteer fireman for Finley Fire Department. He was a member of The Junction Church of God, the Lion's Club and the Moose Club. Cecil proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Chessor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Seaton Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mayfair B. Seaton of Finley; three sons, William Benjamin Seaton (Karen) of Finley, TN, Joseph Darrell Seaton (Wende) of Dallas, TX and Daniel Edward Seaton (Gail) of Sharon, TN; two daughters, Darlene Seaton White (Braund) and Sandy Seaton, all of Dyersburg, TN; a step-daughter, Linda Dawson of Atoka, TN; a step-son, Jeff Bailey of Big Sandy, TN; a brother, Charles Seaton (Ginny) of Dyersburg, TN; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Seaton.

Pallbearers will be Duane Goff, Jordan Ramsey, B.J. Hale, Daniel Brown, Zach Jacobi, Bradley Harris, Hunter Walton and Heath Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Moore, Billy Farrow and David Seaton.
