Obituary

James Everett Moody, 82, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

He was born on November 23, 1934 in Dyer County, TN, to the late Sonny Moody and the late Tiney Burns Moody. James was a retired foreman at Colonial Rubber. He was also a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Southerland officiating. Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include his four daughters, Tina Randle of Miston, Sandra Burrus of Tiptonville, Joyce Ann Peery and Debbie Young, both of Dyersburg; three sons, Barry Moody of Finley, Kenneth Moody of Dyersburg and James William Moody of Tiptonville; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Moody; a son, Russ Maynard; a brother, Billy Moody; an infant sister; and two grandsons.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
