James "Mike" Michael George, age 74, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center.

Born on October 30, 1951, in Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late James Edward George and Ruby Eloise Pruitt George. A 1969 graduate of Dyersburg High School, Mike was known as a soft-spoken man whose words carried weight. He worked as a salesman for Forcum Lannom and was a former employee of Thurmond Lumber Company. Mike was a jack of all trades who enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. He loved to tell jokes and stir up a little mischief. He cherished time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Tucker officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy George of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Amy George Hendren and husband, Tony, of Newbern, TN; a son, Ethan George and wife, Jenny, of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Mary Lou McGuire of Dyersburg, TN and Carolyn Sudbury of Atoka, TN; three grandchildren, Evan Hendren, Drew Hendren and Erin Breeding; and five nephews, Jeff McGuire, Brian Sudbury, Keith Sudbury, Scott Sudbury and Chris Sudbury.
