James Wilbur Metcalf, 81, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on November 10, 1937, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late, Wilbur and Elizabeth Glozier Metcalf. James was a retired Quality Control Inspector at Colonial Rubber, where he worked for 48 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and was an avid blood donor, having donated over 10 gallons through Lifeline Blood Services.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Koonce officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Metcalf Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Beth Weisner and husband, Jeffery, of Southaven, MS and Leslee Martin and husband, Jimmie, of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Craig Metcalf of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Martha Dyal and husband, Rick, of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Jordan Reed, Richmond Dean, Tiffany Turner, Wesley Martin and Nic Martin; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron Dean, Carson Reed, Jayce Williams and John Wade Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adria Ruth Metcalf; and a brother, Otha Metcalf.

Pallbearers will be Robert Pope, Bryan Pope, Bruce Pope, Nic Martin, Wesley Martin and Richie Dean. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Henson and Richard Campbell.
