James H. "Jimmy" McGuire, 84, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on March 15, 1935, in Lenox, TN, to the late James William McGuire and the late Bonnie Mae Gibson McGuire. Jimmy was a retired salesman for Goodyear Tire & Rubber and was a former manager of BF Goodrich, where he received multiple sales awards. He enjoyed fishing, photography, square dancing, reading the Bible and gardening. Jimmy was a devout Christian and a member of Three Oaks Chapel Baptist Church. He was a Dyersburg High School graduate and class coordinator for the Class of 1952. Jimmy was a 21-year cancer survivor.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Peggy McGuire; a daughter, Beverly Gail McGuire Neal of Maryville, TN; two step-daughters, Brenda Redmon of Selmer, TN and Anita Livingston of Sevierville, TN; three brothers, Charles R. McGuire of Jackson, TN, Sammy Lynn McGuire and David R. McGuire, both of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren, James Blake Neal and Jessica Holly Neal; a great-grandchild, Caysen James Neal; and five step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, George A. Henson, Glen R. "Biggie" McGuire, Gene L. McGuire, William "Pug" McGuire and Donald D. McGuire.

Pallbearers will be Blake Neal, John Henson, Austin McGuire, Gary Box, Larry McCormick, and Daniel Spaller.
