James Henry "Jimmy" Cowles, III, 81, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Jimmy was born on August 14, 1940, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late James H. Cowles, II and Geneva Pate Cowles. He was a retired shipping supervisor for ERMCO and was an avid golfer.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors starting at 2 p.m. until service time at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Angie Quick (David) of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Mike Cowles (Mary Ellen) of Newbern, TN; a brother, Jerry Cowles (Linda) of Bartlett, TN; five grandchildren, Shelley Reaves (Chris), Lauren Carlisle (Barry), Payton Cowles, Ellen Fowler and Emily Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Braylen Attaway, Bingham Carlisle, Livian Carlisle, Case Reaves and Cole Reaves; a niece, Karen Cowles Decker; and a nephew, Kevin Cowles (Carrie).

Pallbearers will be David Quick, Kevin Cowles, Chris Reaves, Barry Carlisle, Greg Williams and Terry McGuire.
