James Columbus Flatt, Sr., 83, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Flatt was a retired truck driver with Dyersburg Electric System, where he worked for 32 years. He was also an avid crappie fisherman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Owen officiating. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
The Flatt Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Lita Carmen Floyd of McKenzie and Teresa Ilene Flatt Bateman of Illinois; two sons, James C. Flatt, Jr. and Jimmy Ray Flatt, both of Dyersburg; and eight grandchildren, Levi David Morgan, Brian Christopher Sykes, James Nickolas Flatt, Christian Hope Flatt, Candace Nicole Flatt, Makayla Jean Flatt, Zachery Lance Flatt, and Brianna Caitlin Flatt.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances Ilene Flatt; his parents, Willie and Ludie Caudle Flatt; and three brothers, Elvin Flatt, Marlas Flatt, and Robert Flatt.
Pallbearers will be Thomas King, Tim Bateman, Alex Scott, Brian Sykes, Eddie Rogers, and Gerald Canada. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Rogers and Jonathan Diggs.
