James Edward "Ed" Jackson, 75, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on January 23, 1943, in Hornbeak, TN, to the late James Alton Jackson and the late Martha Treece Jackson. Ed was a retired employee of Bell South and was also an active member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman, which included hunting and fishing. Some of his hobbies included golfing and trading guns. Ed served his country in the U.S. Army and Tennessee National Guard. He was a devoted father.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at West Dyersburg Church of Christ with Mr. Chuck Morris, Mr. Rick Crawford and Mr. Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Becky Bonds Jackson of Dyersburg; a daughter, Jill Nelson (Eli) of Tullahoma; two sons, J. Paul Jackson (Melanie) and Andrew Jackson (Jennifer), all of Dyersburg; a sister, Linda Waggener of Martin; and ten grandchildren, Lauren Jackson, McKenzie Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Joey Gilliland, Ben Gilliland, Anna Blair Jackson, Walker Jackson, Jake Nelson, Josh Nelson and Jarred Nelson.
