James Russell "Dago" Colvin, Jr., 70, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

James was born on August 21, 1949, in Muskegon, MI, to Edith Jane Spring Colvin and the late James Russell Colvin, Sr. He was a retired first mate with Teco Energy, where he worked for 23 years and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. James was an avid fisherman and pool player.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Colvin of Dyersburg, TN; a son, James Christian Colvin (Shelly) of Gladewater, TX; two step-sons, Jeff Moody (Terri) and Bobby Lynn Moody, all of Baytown, TX; a step-daughter, Kathy Beaty (Karrell) of Dyersburg, TN; his mother, Edith Jane Colvin of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Ronnie Colvin (Janet) and Russell Colvin, all of Dyersburg, TN; five grandchildren, Matthew Colvin, Jade Colvin, Andrew Colvin, Tana Moses and Jessica Wilson (Skyler); and one great-granddaughter, Anna Wilson.

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by a step-son, Dennis Moody; a sister, Debbie Johnson; and a brother, Mark Colvin.
