James Henry Chaney, 91, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his residence.

James was born on August 17, 1930, in Helena, AR, to the late, Cruse and Robbie Mays Chaney. He was retired from Trunkline Gas Company and was a member of First Baptist Church. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Rick Crawford officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include his two sons, Kevin Chaney and wife, Julie, and Kirk Chaney and wife, Jill, all of Dyersburg, TN; two grandchildren, Molly Chaney Gilbertson and husband, Chris, and Kate Reeves Cates and husband, Chris, all of Knoxville, TN; and a great-grandson, Tyler Reeves Cates.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Reeves Chaney.
