Obituary

James Alton Barham, age 78, passed away at his residence in Dyersburg, Tn

He was born on May 4, 1942 in RoEllen, Tn, to the late James W. "Bud" and Margaret Louise Epperson Barham.  He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 22, 2021.

James attended Dyer County High School.  He was a supervisor for Oldberg/Questor for many years. James was also an owner of several businesses, The Hut, Catfish Corner, Kerr Magee gas station, and last but certainly not least, Barham Bar-B-Que.  James was a superb cook and he received so much joy in people enjoying his food.

He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.  James love of God was his driving force in his life, and he spent his days always loving his Lord and Savior and his fellow man.

He was an avid lover of the outdoors, and his numerous pets brought him so much joy.  James was a very active and inquisitive person, always trying to better himself.  He was an avid baseball fan, faithfully supporting his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.  But without a doubt, his most favorite games were those played by his grandchildren--a lot of which he personally coached.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Fyrne Lake Cottage, 6875 Lenox Nauvoo Road in Dyersburg.  The  Celebration of Life service will be held inside rain or shine and all friends and family are welcome to attend.
