James Bailey, 62, of Halls, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a truck driver for Crook Planting Company and attended Three Oaks Baptist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of Dyersburg High School. James received numerous awards from his career with Combined Insurance Company and served in the Tennessee National Guard. He was a past member of the Dyer County Fair Board and past president and founding member of Island 18 Hunting Club. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, avid outdoorsman and a proud father and grandfather.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Natalie Bailey DeBerry and husband, Jason, of Jackson; a son, Andrew Douglas Bailey and wife, Jacque, of Finley; and five grandchildren, Chloe Isabella Estes, James Conner Bailey, Brooks Chandler DeBerry, Anna Claire Bailey and Jessie Cade Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Anna Davidson Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Crook, Mike Chisholm, Jerry Pate Hollingsworth, George Hollingsworth, Danny Pritchett and Joe Tidwell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Moore, Gerry Anderson and Wayne Leonard.
