James Calvin Anderson, Jr., 71, of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a retired mail tech for the U.S. Postal Service. Calvin was a member of Mt. Tirzah Baptist Church, member of the Tennessee Cattlemen's Association, member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and also a member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The Anderson Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diane Anderson of Dyersburg; a son, Jeremiah Cody Anderson and wife, Sarah, of Dyersburg; a granddaughter, Jenna Claire Anderson; his mother, Meddie Moss Montgomery of Dyersburg; a sister, Patricia Sanders of Dyersburg; and two brothers, Johnny Anderson of Clarksville and Joel Anderson of Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Calvin Anderson, Sr.; and a brother, Danny Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Parker, Jarrod Fowlkes, Stephen Younger, Nick Blalock, Brad Gatlin, Mike Scott, Danny Petrie, and Buck Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Pruett, Larry Hicks, Jimmy Jones, Aaron Reagan, Richard Clanton, Willie Ford, and Johnny Harrison.
