Jackie Edward Mayo, age 76, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Ridgely.

Born on June 11, 1949, in Tiptonville, TN, he was the beloved son of the late Jack and Mary Robertson Mayo. Jackie was a retired clerk with the State of Tennessee Department of Health. A devoted member of the Hornbeak Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and was the music director for an impressive 42 years. Jackie had a passion for baseball and was an accomplished guitarist, bringing joy to many through his music. Jackie proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. John Troutman and Rev. Chip Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Whitson Mayo of Tiptonville, TN; three sisters, Brenda Mayo Leggett of Union City, TN, Sandra Mayo Newsom of Henderson, TN and Deborah Mayo Jimerson of Tiptonville, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved very much.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Leggett, Chad Jimerson, Scott Bruce, Shane Bruce, Dennis Whitson, Derek Whitson and John Whitson.
