J. D. "Fat" Permenter, 82, of Dyersburg, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at The Highlands of Dyersburg.
He was a retired farmer and was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
Services will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Royce McGuire officiating. Burial will be in McCullough's Chapel cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Lineberry of Dyersburg, Paula Stafford of Memphis, and Sheila Autry (Mike) of Troy; three sons, Gary Permenter (Kim) of Newbern, Marty Permenter (Kay) and Rance Permenter, both of Dyersburg; and one sister, Betty Travelstead of Dyersburg. He had eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Sue Permenter; and his wife, Martha Sue Henry Permenter.
Pallbearers will be Macky Enochs, Greg Enochs, Chuck Smith, Alvin Permenter, Curtis Hall, and Kelly Welch.
