Obituary

J. C. Crews, 81, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

He was a retired 25 year employee of Ermco, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Don Layman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha Garner Crews, of Dyersburg; his daughter, Laurie Crews Gamble, and husband, Jeff, of Humboldt; two grandchildren, Jonathon Tyler Gamble, and wife Emily, of Humboldt, and Matthew Chase Gamble, and wife Emily, of Nashville; and one great-granddaughter, Emerson West Gamble of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Aletha Moore Crews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Meeks, Russell Meeks, Jeff Layman, Butch Garner, Steve Brown, Roger Long, and Mike Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Willis, Bill Hobbs, and Jim Bane.
