H.W. "Sonny" Wilkerson, Jr.'s Obituary
H.W. "Sonny" Wilkerson, Jr., 68, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his residence.
He was a retired Senior Chief with the U.S. Navy, where he served for 24 years and a graduate of Catholic High School in Little Rock, AR. He was a 15 year employee of Tennessee Department of Corrections, lifetime member VFW Post 9750 in Tiptonville, active in fund-raising for St. Jude's and LeBonheur Children's Hospitals and he was a Christian man.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Ted Gibson, Larry Howerton and Michael Young officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Lynn Wilkerson of Hendersonville, NC; a sister, Carolyn Morris of Lonoke, AR; an aunt; three nieces; two nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hence, Sr. and Thelma Hall Wilkerson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
