Hester B. Rivers Howell, 83, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.

She was born on November 13, 1934, in Ridgely, TN, to the late Charlie Rivers and Rosie Lee Rivers Morris. Hester was a homemaker and was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. James Tacker and Bro. Kenneth Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Tiptonville Chapel.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Cox and fiancé, Billy Goodlett, and Teresa Tacker, all of Tiptonville; four sons, Milton Howell and wife, Billie, Walter L. Howell and wife, Tammy, and Richard Howell, all of Tiptonville and Charlie Howell and wife, Elizabeth, of Hickman, KY; three brothers, Lee Morris, Joe Morris and Jim Morris, all of Troy; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Serlie Howell; a sister, Helen Rose Jones; and three brothers, S.T. Rivers, Joe Rivers and Ross Rivers.

Pallbearers will be Chris Tacker, Daryl Cox, Tim Watkins, Ben Howell, Jeff Kilpatrick and Karl Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Tacker, James Hobbs and Cody Phelps.
