Mr. Herman Lee Reed, 84, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital. He was born in the McCullough Chapel community on June 26, 1937 and was a life-long resident of Dyer County and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a graduate of Murray State University, was a long-time farmer and served on the Dyer County Board of Education for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting as a member of the Dyer County Coon Club and Island 18 Hunt Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Hester and husband, Jimmy, of Finley, TN; his son, Jason Reed; and was loved as "Pop" by his grandchildren, Reed, Anna Glynn & Connor Hester and Kade & Jake Reed and his aunts, Kay King of Marietta, Ga and Bobbie Gray of Olive Branch, Ms. and a friend, Carolyn Northam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Hassel Reed and Joyce Richardson Reed and his brother, Paul Thomas "Tommy" Reed.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at McCulloughs Chapel Cemetery outside Dyersburg. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Reed Hester, Connor Hester, Kade Reed, Jake Reed, Kyle Brock and Nate Brock. Honorary pallbearers will be AnnaGlynn Hester and Ricky Rogers.
