Herbert Ranny Essary, Sr., 78, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on July 14, 1940, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, Herbert Andrew Essary and the late Edith Mildred Reynolds Essary. Herbert was a retired truck driver for Barnes Trucking. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and pa-paw. Herbert proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, TN with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Candi Still (Randy) of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Tony Essary of Kentucky; a brother, Carl Essary of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Regina Munson (Chris North) of Dyersburg, TN and Anita Lisowski of Commerce, MI; two grandchildren, David McCuiston and wife, Alexandria, and Daniel Still; two great-grandchildren, Braydon Hendrix and Landon Pugh; and a special niece, Chelcie Bennett (Jeffrey).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Patsy Essary; and a son, Michael Essary.
