Obituary

Helen Jane Fumbanks Lindamood, 93, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at her residence.

Helen was born on November 24, 1930, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Louis Clifford Fumbanks, Jr. and Helen Smith Fumbanks. She was a retired office manager for Phoenix Gin Company and was a very supportive member of the Tiptonville Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder and served on the Session.  Ms. Helen was actively involved in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts as a leader and was a mother of 3 Eagle Scouts. She was a longtime member and officer of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in her community and very supportive of the Lifebeat Pregnancy Center. She loved gardening, birdwatching, genealogy, and was an excellent cook. Ms Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, dearly loved by her family.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Tiptonville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Cory Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2023 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Tiptonville Chapel.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Clegg (Chris) of Dyersburg, TN; three sons, William E. Lindamood, Jr. (Teri Curvo) of Memphis, TN, Benjamin Louis Lindamood (Joyce) of Nashville, TN and John Fumbanks Lindamood (Cherry) of Tiptonville, TN; two sisters, Christine Lucas (Richard) of Benton, AR and Phoebe Hensley (Danny) of Tupelo, MS; six grandchildren, Mary Watson, John Edward Lindamood, Ginny Campbell, John Michael Lindamood, Maleita Elaine Lindamood and Daniel Clegg; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William Everett Lindamood, Sr.; and a brother, Louis Clifford Fumbanks III.

Pallbearers will be Louis Fumbanks, Jim Hensley, Steve Hensley, Rob Hensley, Chris Holly and Daniel Arant. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Chadwick, Ed Sumra, David Mooring and Craig Washburn.

Memorials may be directed to Crossett-Lindamood Pay It Forward Scholarship Endowment at the University of TN at Martin, or to Lifebeat Pregnancy Center 120 Church Street, Tiptonville, TN 38079 or to the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee, 1310 Central Ct. Hermitage TN 37076.
