Helen Elizabeth Hunt Haynes, 101, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Bells Nursing Home.

Helen was born on May 12, 1919, in Tiptonville, TN to the late Lucian and Alice "Middie" Osborne Hunt. She was a retired teacher with the Lake County School System and was a proud member of Tiptonville Presbyterian Church. Helen was an avid golfer and loved to garden. She was a good cook and had the gift of hospitality. Helen was a very active and loving grandparent.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Hunt Payne and husband, Houston, of Jackson, TN; a son, Jack Haynes, Jr. of Tiptonville, TN; four grandchildren, Bob Payne, John Payne, Mary Elizabeth Humphries and Sarah Catherine Lamb; and six great-grandchildren, Zach Cole, Kate Payne, Jake Payne, Annie Payne, Kate Lamb and John Humphries.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Floyd Haynes, Sr.
