H.D. Spence, 73, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired welder for H&G Sales, a Baptist and an avid fisherman and hunter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cottonwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Dennison officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Spence of Ridgely; seven daughters, Teresa Spence Bass of Montgomery City, MO, Debbie Spence Falkner of Troy, MO, Cynthia Spence Davis of Trenton, Ruby Williams of Adamsville, Pat Bonilla of Ridgely, Tina Woodard of Sikeston, MO and Verna Fitzgeralu of St. Charles, MO; three sons, H.D. Spence, Jr. of Sherman, TX, Marvin Spence of Dyersburg and Aaron Bartlett of Ridgely; four sisters, Betty Spence of Ridgely, Brenda Allen of Roellen, Pam Staggs of Hornbeak and Cathy Spence of Newbern; four brothers, Jerry Spence of Hawk Point, MO, Lloyd Spence of Ridgely, Travis Spence of Jacksonville, Ala and Tommy Spence of St. Joseph, MO; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Dorothy Kintchen Spence; a daughter, Bonita Spence; and a son, James Spence.
Pallbearers will be Joe Bonilla, Matt Bass, Kelly Bartlett, Lynn Falkner, Rick Bingham and Johnny Brake.
The family requests that memorials may be directed to Cottonwood Baptist Church.
