Harry J. Cobb Sr., 91, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 26 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired farmer and equipment dealer, a member of Newbern First United Methodist Church, former alderman and vice mayor of Newbern, member of Dyer County Election Commission, Newbern Rotary Club, VFW, Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree, DCHS Booster Club Hall of Fame and retired First Sergeant in Tennessee National Guard for 27 years, a Navy veteran of World War II serving eight years in the Navy Seabees.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Dyer County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gus Lohrum officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Skipper Cobb and James T. "Bubba" Cobb, both of Dyersburg and Lexie Cobb of Batesville, Miss.; a sister, Ona Cobb of Dyersburg; a brother, Lexie L. Cobb Jr. of Memphis; six grandchildren, Christy McDonald, Tommy Cobb, Ty Cobb, Jeremy Cobb, Heather Cobb and Brooke Cobb; and four great-grandchildren, Savannah Cobb, Kevin Cobb, Brock Cobb and Christen McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Cobb; his parents, Lex and Lizzie Cobb; and two brothers, James Cobb and Franklin Cobb.
Pallbearers will be members of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
