Harold E. Seaman, 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his son's residence in Melbourne, FL.

He was born in Mattoon, IL in 1926 to the late Ralph and Martha Seaman and grew up on the family farm. Mr. Seaman loved his family and friends and enjoyed being outside, making and fixing things and tending his vegetable garden. He especially loved pitching washers, horseshoes and playing shuffleboard.

After a time in the U.S. Army, Mr. Seaman spent his working years with his family in the Chicago, IL area and retired to Dyersburg where he and his wife attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Layman officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery in Friendship. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two sons, Gregory Seaman and wife, Nan, of Melbourne, FL and Mark Seaman and wife, Laura, of Owensboro, KY; and four grandchildren, Emilee Seaman, Valerie Seaman, Ryan Seaman and Derek Seaman.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pauline Sanders Seaman; a son, Kevin S. Seaman; a sister, Carolyn Quick; and two brothers, Robert Seaman and Richard Seaman.
