Harold "Possum" Kermit Bennett, 97, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Harold was born on January 8, 1925, in Bogota, TN, to the late, Benjamin Carl Bennett and the late, Ila Pearl Forsett Bennett. He enjoyed farming, riding around and going to the Hee Haw Shows. Harold had a memory like an elephant and loved having fun. He was a Church of Christ by faith.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, Dyersburg, TN with Bro. John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, TN.

The Bennett Family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his brother, Larry Bennett of Cat Corner, TN; a niece that helped care for him, Andrea Bennett Black; a great-nephew, Bennett Black; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue Carroll; and four brothers, Thomas Bennett, Billy Bennett, Joe Bennett and Bobby Bennett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Childress, Walley Childress, Tommy Childress, Bennett Black, Jackie Bennett and Ronnie Price.
