Harold E. Davison, 84, of Finley, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his residence after an 8 month battle with cancer.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Finley Baptist Church. Mr. Davison was a former member of Emanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was devoted to his family and his career in farming. He was also a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast. After retiring, he pursued his interest in classic cars, as a member of Forked Deer Classic Car Club.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Halliburton and Bro. Eddie Wilbanks officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The Davison Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Wanda June Johnston Davison of Finley; two daughters, Teresa Davison Stripling of Humble, TX and Melanie Davison Wilbanks and husband, Eddie, of Finley; a son, Lance Davison of Finley; a sister, Lois Odle of Nashville; four grandchildren, Maranda Pleasant of Los Angeles, CA., Jane Ann Davison McCullough and husband, Jared, of Lewisburg, Brian Davison of Finley and Matthew Wilbanks of Finley; and a great-granddaughter, Ocean Pleasant of New York City, NY.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matt Davison; his parents, Edgar and Lucy Junior Davison; a sister, Florence Davison Brashier; and a brother, Travis Davison.
Pallbearers will be Mark Enochs, Paul Waldron, Faron Collins, Joe Davison, Charles Seaton and Jerry Surratt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Moore, Ray Strawn, James Edwards and Anthony Evans.
