Griffey Cagle, 80, of Ridgely, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired employee with Lake County Utility District, where he worked from 1968-1990, attended Wynnburg Baptist Church, worked as a truck and tractor driver for Lake County Highway Department and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Tiptonville chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Byassee officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Tiptonville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty C. Cagle of Ridgely; a son, Randall Lewis Cagle, Sr. of Ridgely; a step-son, Thurman Snyder, Jr. of Troy; three brothers, Clyde Cagle of Ridgely, Hayes Cagle of Tiptonville and Bobby Cagle of Florida; four grandchildren, Randall Lewis Cagle, Jr., Jeremy Cagle, Kim Cagle and Jennifer Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Meri Cagle and Hunter Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruby Pinion Cagle; and two brothers, Billy Cagle and William "Skeet" Cagle.
Pallbearers will be David Gooch, Joel Bargery, George Land, Les Hamm and Bobby Busby. Honorary pallbearer will be Leroy Cagle.
