G.P. "Pete" Armstrong, 82, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at his residence.

Pete was born on March 7, 1940, in Lenox, TN, to the late, G.D. "Geed" Armstrong and the late Fern Elizabeth Anderson Armstrong. He was retired from the maintenance department from Colonial Rubber and was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church. Pete loved to travel, fish and being outdoors.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Southerland and Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Calvary Independent Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Dianne Ward of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Peggy Ashley of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, Bill "Red" Armstrong of Dyersburg, TN; a grandson, Jacob Mills; a step-grandson, Mike Ward; a granddaughter-in-law, Brandy Hampton; a step-great-granddaughter, Taylor Ward; and a step-great-great-granddaughter, Charlee Kait Veal.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Sexton Armstrong; a brother, Rodney Armstrong; a sister, Brenda Hollingsworth; and a grandson, Keith Ward.

Pallbearers will be Mike Ward, Jacob Mills, Paxton Blackburn, Thomas Blackburn, JerryB Hampton and Ben Mallory.
