Obituary

Gloria Jean Pounders, 62, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a probation officer for the state of Tennessee and a former employee of Dyersburg Fabrics.

Services will be at noon Monday at City Gate Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Michael Wilson, Bro. Thomas Bestor, Bro. Billy Elder and Apostle Clay Nash officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. today at the church.

Survivors include five daughters, Jeannie McCommon and Amy Bradley, both of Dyersburg, Tammy Runions and Lisa Howard and husband, James, all of Trimble, and Connie Bryant and husband, Donnie, of Newbern; a son, Brad Pounders and wife, Julie, of Dyersburg; three sisters, Pat Martin of Ripley, Donna Simpson of Oakland, Tenn., and Delores "Corkey" Clanton of Dyersburg; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint Harber and Georgie Harber Sorrell; a sister, Ruby Johnson; and a brother, Bob Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Bennett Simpson, Dennis Coleman, Bryant Weaver, Jeffrey Vaulx, Randall Hurst and Tavian Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Jimmy Allen, Max Jones, Joey Sanford and George Allen Burns.
