Glenda Mae Forsythe, age 79 of Dyersburg, TN passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at West TN Healthcare - Dyersburg Hospital.

She was born on May 5, 1943 in Halls, TN to the late John and Beulah Mae Grizzle Smith. Glenda owned and operated Forsythe Beauty Salon in Dyersburg for many years. Glenda was a member of Independent Free Holiness Church in Dyersburg where she was very active and played the piano for over 50 years. She was very talented in all aspects of life whether that being playing an instrument, sewing, cooking, or cutting hair. Glenda also enjoyed gardening with her younger brother Lloyd and his wife Linda. She was known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to all her family.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 8:00 on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Independent Free Holiness Church conducted by Bro. Calvin Smith, Bro. Steven Spires and Bro. Dakota Owsley.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Larry Forsythe Jr. (Stephene); one daughter, Kim Wells (Mike); two brothers, Bro. Calvin Smith and Lloyd Smith (Linda); one sister, Margaret Jacques (Al); one sister-in-law, Judy Linder (Rick); four grandchildren, Mason Forsythe, Heather Nowell (Chase), Blake Shipley (Megan) and Tyler Shipley (Taylor) and four great grandchildren, Emma Nowell, Cooper Shipley, Neyland Shipley and Owen Shipley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Forsythe Sr.; four brothers, Neely Smith, Paul Smith, Homer Smith and Frank Smith; and two sisters, Martha Ann White and Burma Townson.

Honoring Glenda as pallbearers will be Dashial Campbell, John Harrison, Gerald Burns, Rick Linder, Chase Nowell and John Junior.
