Glen Howard Barr's Obituary
Glen Howard Barr, 68, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was the Executive Director for the Jackson Center for Independent Living for which he founded, a member of Lake Road Baptist Church, a graduate of and Alumni recipient of the year of DSCC, and a member of the Dyersburg Civitan Club.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Mapes officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Maybell (Mazie) Hall Barr of Dyersburg; a daughter, Carla Barr Jowers and husband, Mark, of Dyersburg; two sons, Greg Barr and wife, Deanna, of Newbern and Eric Barr and wife, Christina, of Munford; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Velma King Barr.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Luckett, Mark Luckett, Curtis Hall, Dickie Bivens, Vincent Hall and Curtis Mitchell Hall. Honorary pallbearer will be Freeman Dudley.
