Gladis Dean Carden, 78, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Gladis was born on September 29, 1942, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, James and Mai Frances Bishop Kimbrell. She was retired from Penguin Book and was a member of McCullough Chapel Baptist Church. Gladis enjoyed taking walks and loved her grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Eddie Wilbanks officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Carden (Suzie) of Newbern, TN and Donald Raymond Carden, Jr. (Rhonda) of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Vickie Lewis of Burnt Prairie, IL; six grandchildren, James Carden, Tanaya Hooten, Michael Carden, Timmy Lewis Billy Lewis and Donald Carden, III; and twelve great-grandchildren, Ellie Bush, Camdyn Carden, Christopher Bush, J.R. Hooten, Haidyn Carden, Jameson Carden, Braxton Carden, MaLaya Bush, Emma Carden, Cara Carden, Jacob Hooten and Maison Carden.

In addition to her parents, Gladis was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Raymond Carden; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Bush, Jameson Carden, James Carden, Trey Carden, Robert Bryson and Cliff Hooten.
