Ms. Georgeann Evelyn Hettmann, of Dyersburg, passed away June 15, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.  She was born May 13, 1948 in Chicago, IL. and later was well known as "Maw" for her caring nature, working as a cook and cashier at Wilson's Mini-Mart for many years.  She was a Catholic by faith a devoted caregiver to her entire family.  She loved gardening, cooking and especially playing games and cards with family.

She is survived by her daughters Laura Glascoff and Barbara Wilson (Tony) and her sister Patricia Workman.  She was dearly loved and known as "Nana" by her granddaughters, Nicole Prince (Jarrod), Sarah Anderson (Ben), Samantha Rhodes (Josh), Vanessa Palmer (Brett) and Jessica Johnson (Heather) and her nine great-grandchildren, Billy "BJ" Solorsano, Adryana Mar, Landon Wilson, Braydon Prince, Jenna Anderson, Franklin Roark, Jamison Rhodes, Ava Prince and Drake Palmer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Nurkiewicz and Dorothy N. Majewski, her brother Edward Michael Nurkiewicz, her sisters, Virginia Mohedano and Darlene Sieber,  her son, Jeffery Mitchell and her husbands Billy Benham and George Hettmann.

The family will hold a visitation gathering to celebrate the life of Ms. Georgeann Hettmann on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
