Mr. George Edward White Sr., age 85, of Newbern, TN passed away Wednesday at West TN Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

George was born on June 4, 1936 in the Chic community to the late George Elvin White and Kate Louise May White. He was a retired truck driver for Forcum Lannom Contractors. He has many passions and hobbies in life that included hunting, fishing and metal detecting just to name a few. He loved tinkering with Ham and CB radios. He was a technical class Ham radio operator and his radio call sign was KI4OUG. George was also a lifetime member of the NRA and even had his own You-tube channel called "Cornbread Jack". He was a den leader for his sons local cub scout group and served as a role model to everyone he met. George also loved motorcycles and eating. One of his proudest moments was when he received his GED at the age of 76. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 1-3 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Funeral services for George White Sr. will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Bill Stevenson. Internment will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dorothy James White of Newbern, TN; two sons, Kevin White (Suzie) of Imperial, MO and Chris White of Union City, TN; one daughter, Dawn L. White (Thomas) of Overland, MO; one brother, Charles Robert White of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Jeanette White of Ripley, TN and Annette Thomas (John) of Greers Ferry, AR; one daughter-in-law, Bernadette B. White of Memphis, TN; fifteen grandchildren, Johnathon Cox, Dr. Jason Cox (Lexie), Daniel Cox, Christie Cox, Tammy Naylor (Thomas), Dylan White (Chasity), Macy White, Thomas White, Rachel White & Mary, Bernadette (Dotty) Richards, Melody Lynne (Kurt), Colleen Milton (JJ), George Edward White III (Heidi), Taylor White, and Kelly White; forty-four great grandchildren, Carli, Mariah (Tevelle), Sadie, Mia, Falon, Alonna, Brooklin, Brayden, Ryley, Rexley, Mason (Lauren), Madelyn, Maverick, Ellie, Ami, Piper, Scout, Caanan, Levi, Olive, Boaz, Genesis, Gypsie, Gemini, Treyler, Traktor, Trayne, Traxx, Tristian, McKenna, George E. White IV, Lucca, Emily Grace, Nathalia, Jessica, Alexander, Adalyn Dawn, Atlas, Grant, Ari, Gavin, McKayla, and Devyn; three great-great-grandchildren, Oaklynn, Madesyn, and Gianna; and lastly  his four K-9 companions, Lily Mae, Twiggy, Missy, and JR.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, SSG USA RET George E. White Jr.
