George Rance Frye, 80, of Tiptonville, TN passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

He was the son of the late Woodrow and Ethel Massey Frye, born May 7, 1941 in Elbridge, TN. He has served in the United States Army and was the Assistant Chief of the Tiptonville Police Department and served 28 years. He served 7 years prior for the Lake County Sheriff's Department. He was a patriarch of the community; known and loved by all he encountered.

Services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Joe England, Corey Glidwell, Shelby Barker and Cliff Berry, Jr. The family will receive visitors starting at 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.

He leaves brhind his beloved wife, Marilyn, of 29 years; three sons, Roland (Janie) Frye, Brad (Kayla) Howard, Joey Howard; one daughter, Carol (Joe) England; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; his beloved furbaby, Gizmo; and a brother-in-law, Ricky Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Police Officers.
