George Boyd Fisher's Obituary
George Boyd Fisher, 89, of Friendship, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Alamo Nursing and Rehab.
He was the retired owner of George's Meat Market. George was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was a member of The Church of Christ.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Fisher of Friendship; a daughter, Edith Basir of Chicago, IL; five sons, Ronnie Fisher of Waverly, IL, Rodney Fisher of Covington, Ty Fisher and Clyde Fisher, both of Bonicord and Eldon Fisher of Dyersburg; a brother, Novis G. Fisher of Friendship; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Fisher; a daughter, Beverly Ann Fisher Wheeler Stewart; a son, Phillip Fisher; and his parents, George W. and Mamie Reed Fisher.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Fisher, Rodney Fisher, Eldon Fisher, Ty Fisher, Clyde Fisher, Rocky Fisher and Dennis Fisher.
The family requests that memorial be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
