Mr. George "Burt" Siddens, age 83, of Dyersburg, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare- Dyersburg Hospital.

Mr. Siddens was born March 3, 1935, to the late William and Anna Katherine Siddens of Bowling Green Ky.  He operated Action Rentals, an equipment rental company, for many years and attended Parr Avenue Church of Christ.  He had a great love for the children of Dyersburg, volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader and helping start the basketball leagues at the Dyersburg Neighborhood Activity Center.  He also coached many seasons in the Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth baseball leagues as well as coaching soccer and girls' softball. He enjoyed fishing and also displaying the famous Reynolds Avenue Christmas Lights, where he assisted as Santa Claus.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Thornton Siddens, of Dyersburg, a son, Terry Siddens and wife, Linda, of Dallas Tx, a daughter, Sara Dianne Boyle, of Ga, three grandchildren, John Boyle, IV, and wife, Andie of Orlando, Fl, Sarah Siddens, of Denver, Co, George Terrance Siddens, II, of Dallas, Tx and a great-granddaughter, Hadley Hazel Siddens.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, William Orren Siddens and Robert B. Siddens.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
