George Washington Allen, 75, of Tiptonville, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his residence.
He was a retired employee with Mars Candy Company, where he worked for 32 years. Mr. George was active in the Ridgely Senior Citizens Center, was an avid fisherman, pool player, and was a gardener. He also attended First Baptist Church in Tiptonville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Bob Harriman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The Allen Family will receive visitors from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Allen of Lockport, IL; a daughter, Sissy Allen-Badalamenti of Montgomery, IL; a son, Duck Allen of Lockport, IL; two sisters, Barbara Nichols of Paris and Dean Hodgkiss of Jonesboro, AR; a brother, Larry Allen of Rosemont, IL; and four grandchildren, Jimmy Allen, B.J. Badalamenti, Tony Badalamenti, and Andy Badalamenti.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nora Brewer Allen; five sisters, Amanda Wells, Mary Ann Brewer, Margie Ingram, Kathy Sue Allen, and Christine Reynolds; and six brothers, Ronnie Allen, Tommy Gene Allen, J.W. Allen, Bobby Joe Allen, Jim Henry Allen, Sr. and Roger Dale Allen.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Allen, B.J. Badalamenti, Tony Badalamenti, Andy Badalamenti, Duck Allen, and Larry Allen.
