Obituary

Geneva Earlene (Eason) Lumley, of Lenox passed into eternal life on 22 December 2019 at her home after many years of battling health issues related to diabetes. She was born 21 August 1928 to Earl and Bessie Greenhall Eason of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Earlene was a member of Lenox Baptist Church and the oldest person in Lenox. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law (Connie and Terry) who also were her care givers for the past eleven years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and caring for her extended family. She loved the children who entered her family tree and especially being a "Great Great" Grandma.

Earlene was a kind, generous and loving person. She taught her family to have strong work ethic and Christian values. Mom your family is extremely grateful for your love, hard labor and sacrifices to care and provide for us. We are saddened for our loss but happy for your gain. You have a new body to shout and sing to the Lord while you stroll across heaven. Earlene's desire was for all to know Christ. She will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband (Robert Lumley) of 57 years; three sisters, Syble Gnade, Lucy Barrett and Nadine Griffin; five brothers, Ray, Joe, Charles, James and Bobby Eason; granddaughter, Cathy Brown of Alvin, TN; and grandson, Doug Robbins of Halls, TN.

Survivors include four daughters, Diana Carrier of Dyersburg, Mae (Guy) Jordan of Puryear, TN, Bess (Mike) Robbins of Halls, Connie (Terry) Greer of Lenox; four sons, Robert (Nancy) of Knoxville, Jim (fiancé Valerie) of Dyersburg, Earl (Betty) of Lenox and Larry (Linda) of Dyer; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren with number thirteen arriving in March 2020; four great-great-grandchildren with number five arriving in March 2020. Countless nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home (420 Hwy 51 Bypass West, Dyersburg, TN). Pastors Jim Branscum and Gary Gibson will officiate final services on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at McCullough Chapel Cemetery.
